FICCI National Committee on Logistics Meeting

It was a pleasure attending the FICCI National Committee on Logistics meeting under the leadership of our chairperson Rizwan Soomar.

We discussed and also learned from the viewpoints of the distinguished members on some very important issues.

The key points of discussion :

GatiShakti initiative:
How the FICCI Logistics Committee could work with the Government to facilitate the implementation of this initiative. 

Feedback from user industries:
Key representatives from end-user industries, who are members of FICCI, sharing their expectations and issues pertaining to logistics in India for the committee to consider and resolve.

Digitization of logistics:
Provide formal feedback to the Government on behalf of the committee towards improvement of its digital logistics platforms such as NLP Marine (under IPA), NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDS), etc.

Sustainability and De-carbonization: 
Strategies and innovations to make India’s logistics sector sustainable and reduce its carbon footprint. (e.g. Use of Electric vehicles, energy-efficient cold chain, use of solar and wind power to augment and replace coal-based thermal power, etc.)

LEADS: 
 Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) Survey on ranking the States & UTs for their performance in the logistics sector, conducted by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India.
