Inspiring meeting with Mr. Shiv Khera Sir, authors, You Can Win
Some moments come full circle in the most beautiful ways.
Had the honour of meeting Mr. Shiv Khera Sir— one of the world’s highest-selling motivational authors, with over 15 million books sold, including the iconic You Can Win — while representing Hyphen SCS at the Horasis India Conference in Singapore (15–16 December).
“Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently.”
This line has stayed with generations, including mine.
Growing up at Sainik School Sujanpur Tira. , one of my most inspiring teachers, Late Mr. GDK Sir, was a huge admirer of Shiv Khera Sir.
Every summer vacation when I came to Delhi, he would ask me to bring 10–12 copies of You Can Win.
He would then distribute them among students — not just to read a book, but to ignite belief, discipline, and leadership in young minds.
Years later, standing face-to-face with the very person whose words shaped so many lives — including indirectly mine — was deeply emotional.
I shared with him the journey of Dont Give Up World — how it started as a simple SMS group, evolved into a website, and today has grown into a multi-platform social movement, touching nearly a million people every day, spreading hope, resilience, and optimism.
After hearing the story, Mr. Shiv Khera Sir did something incredibly kind and humbling.
He removed the “You Can Win” band he was wearing and gifted it to me.
A small gesture — but one filled with meaning, respect, and emotion.
Moments like these remind you why purpose matters.
Why stories matter.
And why belief, when shared, multiplies.
