Had the incredible pleasure of meeting my friend Niroj Bhandari, MBBS , Sommer’s Scholar at Johns Hopkins University, and Executive Officer & Clinical Research Associate at the Institute for Implementation Science and Health during my recent trip to Kathmandu 🇳🇵.
Representing Hyphen SCS at the finals of the South Asia ICT Award 2024 was already exhilarating, but connecting with Niroj made it unforgettable.
We first crossed paths at a startup event hosted by TIE Delhi, and somehow our frequencies just clicked.
Whether it was plain luck or a touch of divine intervention, both of us being in Kathmandu at the same time felt truly serendipitous 🌟.
Despite sleepless nights over the past two days, meeting Niroj was a breath of fresh air.
He took me on a walking tour through some of Kathmandu’s hidden gems and iconic spots, sharing captivating stories and deep insights into Nepal’s rich culture.
From startups and science to business, spirituality, and even politics, our conversations were endless and inspiring.
Niroj also introduced me to some authentic local brands like Himalayan Java Coffee ☕, Rakura Tea 🍃, and Krishna Pauroti, one of Nepal’s oldest bakeries 🥐.
Our journey culminated in picking up beautiful wooden sculptures of Lord Ganesha and Kaal Bhairav, perfect reminders of this amazing trip 🪔.
Thank you, Niroj, for your time, love, and warmth. Looking forward to our next meeting! 🙏❤️
