Despite facing the unimaginable pain of losing their daughter, they chose to channel their grief into something beautiful.
They dedicated their lives to creativity, sustainability, and community-building.
What sets them apart as real-life superheroes is their commitment to self-sustainable energy sources, providing livelihoods to the unemployed, and even running a free community kitchen for the people of Yukon.
The passion, energy, and positively vibrant aura that radiated from them were among the most moving and inspiring moments of CSC2023 – The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference – Canada 2023.
Upon arriving at Lumel Studios, the first thing that struck us was the vibrant atmosphere of the studio.
The heat of the glass furnaces, the array of colorful glass creations, and the sound of laughter and conversation filled the space.
It was clear that this was more than just a place of art; it was a hub of connection and collaboration.
They welcomed us with open arms and shared the story of Lumel Studios’ creation.
