Honoring Javier Guardo Sir: The Investor Who Believed First

Some people invest capital. And then there are people who invest belief, time, trust, guidance, patience, and a part of themselves into your journey.

For us at Hyphen SCS, Javier Guardo Sir, Managing Partner at Kembol Ventures, has been that person.

It was a privilege to host him at our HO — but more than a visit, it felt like welcoming someone who has been a part of our story from the very beginning.

Our relationship started through Anand Shiralkar sir, who referred us to Javier Guardo Sir when we were trying to understand how the US startup ecosystem works before starting the OnDeck ODX cohort.

The first call happened on WhatsApp.
He listened.
He understood our vision.
He asked difficult but important questions.
Not to discourage us, but to make us think better.

Then came the 2nd call.
We discussed the clarifications, the opportunity, the model, the mindset, and the road ahead.

And towards the end of that call, he said something that has stayed with me forever:

“I like you. I believe in your vision. I resonate with your operator and P&L mindset, and I would love to invest .”

That moment meant more than just funding.

It meant someone sitting thousands of miles away had seen something in us — even before the accelerator started, even before any long due diligence process, even before the world had fully understood what we were trying to build.

He believed first.
And sometimes, for a founder, that belief is oxygen.
Since then, Javier sir has been far more than our first investor.

He has been a mentor, guide, friend, father figure, and one of the strongest pillars in our journey.

Like every startup, we have seen our share of highs, lows, uncertainty, pressure, and difficult days. But through all of it, one thing has remained constant — his support.

His calm advice.
His honest feedback.
His ability to push us harder while still making us feel supported.

His belief that Hyphen SCS should not become just another startup, but the gold standard and benchmark for warehousing.

Not a copycat version of Western models.
But a platform built from India, for the world.

There are people who write cheques.
And then there are people who change the way you see your own potential.
Javier sir has done that for us.

Words will never be enough to express what his role has meant in our journey. The entire Hyphen SCS team is deeply grateful for his belief, guidance, contribution, and blessings.

We are putting in our absolute all — our blood, sweat, and soul — to build something that he, we, and most importantly, India will be proud of in the near future.
